Thus Beckwith of Acton married Barbara Milbrum and died 1644. He had 14 children the eldest was Thomas whose line became extinct in the second generation. Of the next five children of Thomas nothing is know, but the seventh son George Beckwith was baptized at Featherstone March 29th 1610 and immigrated to America in 1648 in company with Secretary John Hatton and others. The line of primogeniture having become extinct in the family of his eldest brother thus fell to the family of George who will be spoken of presently under the head of American Beckwiths.

William Beckwith the second William of Thomas and Frances (Frost) Beckwith was baptized at Featherstone Castle 1571 and immigrated to America in 1707, land landing at Jamestown Va. With Captain John Smith from the ship Phoenix. He will be spoken of in American Beckwiths.

Returning to Marmeduke Beckwith of Clint and Duere, we find that his son Matthun Bechwith was at Jaybrook Point in Connecticut in 1635, and he was the ancestor of by far the greater number of the American Beckwiths, and whose descendants use to be found in every state in the nation, in Canada, and in the Lundinct Islands. The third son of Marmaduke Beckwith was Roger Beckwith of Northcot and Aldborough. He was twice married, by his second wife Susannah daughter of Bracken King of Tuakny. He was succeeded by his son, Authur Beckwith of Aldborough, a captain in the parliamentary army or Cromwell and was killed in battle 1142. His eldest son Roger Beckwith, who entertained different political views, was knighted and created a baronet by Charles the 2nd in 1681. He, Roger, was twice married and died in 1700.

By his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Christopher Clapham, he had one son Arthur who died “beyond the seas” (possibly the ancestor of the Beckwiths of the Island of Barbados.) By his second wife Elizabeth, daughter of Edmound Jennings of Ripon, knight, he had two sons, Roger and Maarmaduke and a daughter - Sir Roger Beckwith - of Aldborough Baronet was high sheriff of County York 1706, Mayor of Leeds 1705, died 1743. He was married October 10th 1705 to Lauri, daughter of Bing. Waddington of Allerton Gladstone they had two sons Roger and Edward, both of whom died unmarried, and so Marmeduke succeeded to the Bannister.
